Kompot Village, Cambodia, comprises of 40,000 Muslims and many of them are in need of support from the Muslim community at large. 

One of the most dire need for the villagers is access to clean water. Unlike in our own homes, getting water is as simple as turning on the tap. While in the village, there are no water sources in the house and people depend on water pumps or water wells that may be situated a distance away.

Imagine, having to fetch water from far away just to cook, shower in the morning to prepare for work and the kids for school and to wash the dishes! This is both inconvenient and pose a daily challenge in their lives.

The Al Hilal Ummah Services Waqaf Water Pump project aims to directly address this problem by installing mechanical water pumps just metres from outside their homes!

By facilitating access to clean water, the Waqaf Water Pump allows individuals to reclaim their dignity, and save precious time that would otherwise be spent sourcing water. This freedom enables them to dedicate more time to education, work, and other enriching activities.

﴿ مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنۢبَتَتۡ سَبۡعَ سَنَابِلَ فِى كُلِّ سُنبُلَةٍ مِّاْئَةُ حَبَّةٍ۬‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُضَٰعِفُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴾
Surah Al-Baqarah: 261

The meaning is:

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] that sprouts seven ears; in every ear is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 261)

Proof of Your Waqaf

When you make an order through this website, you will receive an order confirmation through email. This constitutes a proof of your order.

At our end, we will instruct our partners in Kompot Village, Cambodia, to start with the well digging process and construction of the water pump. This process may take 4-6 weeks.

The water pump will display contributor name(s) as proof.

Once the water pump is ready, we will send to you:

• photos and videos
• a digital certificate for your waqaf

Note:

• Each water pump, will benefit a whole family unit for their daily water needs
• Where opportune, it may also be built for Masjids or Musollahs
• Lifespan of each pump averages 7-8 years based on existing models
